Worker removing the battery from the forklift

Battery and Charger Safety Training

Batteries are the new and improved source of power used in material handling equipment. They have a lot more advantages in certain applications over fuel engines. These advantages include quiet operation, zero emissions, lower maintenance, and compactness. Because of these benefits, batteries are being used in material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks and boom lifts. With the increasing use of electrical equipment, it is important to learn about the safe handling of batteries and the charger.

This battery and charger safety training course is built to teach workers the best way to handle and recharge batteries and best practices in case of emergencies.

Why do you need battery training

Hazard prevention
The most important aspect of using the batteries safely is preventing and identifying any hazards associated with the batteries. The hazards associated with the use and handling of batteries include electric shocks,  chemical exposure, and explosions.

Safe handling
Personnel working closely with batteries must understand the importance of wearing appropriate PPE when handling batteries and their components. Batteries should only be charged at designated stations.

If not handled with proper care, battery spills can cause serious effects on the health of workers. This battery training course is built to train workers in case of emergencies.
