Track Loaders

Also known as track loaders, these units feature two sets of tracks instead of tires. By utilizing tracks, they offer better flotation by putting less pressure on the ground. This makes them ideal for uneven terrain and pushing applications such as snow removal or dirt piling. Track loaders can also be used in all weather conditions due to their stability. However, track loaders require more maintenance. This means you’re getting higher utility, but higher operating costs.

Skid Steers

These skid steers feature a 4-wheel design that makes them ideal for flat, even surfaces. By utilizing conventional wheels, a wheeled skid loader can travel at higher speeds than a track loader. They also deliver higher digging force while having fewer wearable components. This reduces maintenance costs over the life of the machine. That being said, these units are not well-suited for difficult terrain such as mud, snow, or sand. They also possess lower pushing power than track loaders.

Vertical Lift Skid Steers

This model is available for both track and wheel-based skid steer loaders. Vertical lift options keep the load closer to the machine. As a result, they offer higher lift heights and greater lift capacities than Radial configurations. This makes them ideal for work that is performed above eye level. Vertical lift skid steers excel in handling construction materials and loading dirt into dump trucks. This makes them a great choice for material handling applications.

Radial Lift Skid Steers

This model is also available for both tack and wheel-based skid loaders. A radial lift skid steer has a lift chart that changes substantially from the ground to full lift height. This means that it offers a higher lift capacity at lower levels, but lower capacity at higher levels. It also offers a slightly longer horizontal outreach at the mid-point. This makes them a great choice for work that is performed below eye level. This includes excavation, digging, and snow removal.
