Regardless of the driver’s experience level, it’s important that they are instructed in proper backing techniques and safety. This course is designed to help reduce the number of backing accidents by instructing participants in proper backing safety. Upon completion of this trailer backing training, drivers will be able to:

Online Trailer Backing Training Duration

This online trailer backing training takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. As an online course, it can be started, paused, and resumed as needed.

Assessment and Certification

A test is presented at the end of this course to reinforce the knowledge presented. A score of at least 80% must be achieved to pass. The participant may repeat the course up to two times if this score is not obtained. Upon passing this trailer backing training course, a certificate of completion will be made available for printing.

This course is designed to offer complete functionality on most internet-capable devices. Participants can complete this backing safety training course on any Android, Apple, or Windows-based device. This allows the user to start the course on one device and finish it on another.
