We are pleased to announce that Ashley Mckie, our Director of Safety, has been recognized as one of the Top Women in Safety for 2023. Ashley's unwavering commitment to safety and personal development has played an integral role in establishing a safety-first culture within our organization. She has been a vital part of our team for nine years, during which she has provided consistent messaging, structured our safety systems, and expanded our safety programs as our company has grown. Her proactive, inclusive, calm, and patient approach to educating new employees and working with new managers to implement incoming safety programs has been a driving force behind our successful COR certifications in three provinces (BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan).
As Director of Safety for all equipment dealerships and companies within Venturis Capital Corporation, including Leavitt Machinery and several regional dealerships across Canada and the US, Ashley's responsibilities have grown significantly in recent years. With operations in over 60 branches across six provinces and 14 states and more than 1,200 employees, she consistently goes above and beyond to provide her team with the support they need. Her colleagues acknowledge her as someone who genuinely cares about the safety, health, and well-being of everyone within the company and the customers they serve.
Ashley's commitment to personal development is evident from her achievement of both her CRSP and CHSC designations and active participation in the safety community. She is the Chair of the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) and participates in the Threads for Life walk annually to raise funds for families affected by workplace tragedies. Her contributions to the safety industry have earned her recognition as a top leader in safety for our organization and the industry.
At our organization, we take safety very seriously, and Ashley has been instrumental in creating a safety-first culture that emphasizes continuous improvement. She believes that safety should be simple and focus on ongoing improvement, which is reflected in her work and contributions. Her proactive, inclusive, calm, and patient approach to educating employees and working with managers to implement safety programs has created an environment that encourages emerging leaders within the department and the organization.
We are incredibly proud to have Ashley as a member of our team and would like to congratulate her on this well-deserved honor as one of the Top Women in Safety for 2023. Her contributions to our organization and the safety industry have been invaluable.
