Train the Trainer, OSHA Online Coaching, and T3 Evaluator Programs: Which One Fits Your Company?
Workplace safety and proper operator certification depend on choosing the right training approach, and this company offers three options: Train the Trainer (TT), OSHA Online Coaching, and the In-House Evaluator (T3) Program. TT is the most comprehensive, allowing companies to train and certify operators internally across multiple equipment types. OSHA Online Coaching is a short course that helps ensure existing in-house programs meet OSHA standards. The T3 program focuses on conducting evaluations and re-certifications, providing a structured way to manage ongoing operator competency without teaching classroom theory.
Workplace safety and operator training are critical for any company that operates mobile and heavy equipment. But not every training program serves the same purpose. Choosing the right program depends on your company’s goals, whether you want to certify operators in-house, ensure regulatory compliance, or manage ongoing evaluations.
We offer three distinct approaches: Train the Trainer (TT), OSHA Online Coaching, and the In-House Evaluator (T3) Program. Below, we break down what each program covers, how long it takes, what you’ll be able to do afterwards, and which situations each is best suited for.
Quick Comparison Chart
| Program | Duration | What It Covers | After Completion | Best Fit For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Train the Trainer (TT) / In-House Instructor | Online theory: 2–3 hrs. Machine-specific webinar: 4 hrs. Instructor webinar: 4 hrs. Practical: 2–4 hrs. (per machine type) | Online operator theory, machine-specific webinar with instructor, instructor webinar (1x only), practical training and evaluation | Certify operators in-house; deliver classroom or blended training; conduct practical assessments | Companies wanting full internal training capability |
| OSHA Online Coaching (Forklift or MEWP) | 45 mins online | OSHA coaching course for forklifts (all classes) or MEWP; how OSHA standards apply to internal training programs | Support in-house training; ensure alignment with OSHA standards | Companies with existing or developing training programs needing OSHA compliance support |
| T3 (Evaluator Program) | Online theory: 2–3 hrs. OSHA Online Coaching: 45 mins Practical: 2–4 hrs. Note: Available for multiple machine types beyond forklift or MEWP. | Equipment-specific online theory, OSHA Online Coaching, and practical evaluation | Conduct evaluations, assign online training, complete re-certifications (no classroom theory) | Companies managing ongoing evaluations, new operators, or blended training across equipment types |
Train the Trainer (TT) / In-House Instructor
Train the Trainer (TT) is our most comprehensive program, designed strictly for in-house training. It allows companies internal capability to train and certify operators across multiple types of equipment, but it is not intended for third-party use.
The program begins with 2–3 hours of online theory covering the fundamentals and safety standards for the equipment. This is followed by a 4-hour machine specific webinar led by our instructor, where participants learn how to teach that machine. Participants also attend a 4-hour instructor webinar focused on adult learning principles and effective teaching techniques; this portion only needs to be completed once, no matter how many machines the instructor teaches. Finally, participants complete a practical session lasting 2–4 hours, depending on class size, to demonstrate hands-on skills and evaluation capability.
After completing the TT program, participants can certify operators in-house, deliver classroom or blended theory training, and conduct practical assessments. It’s ideal for companies looking to build a robust internal training program across one or multiple machine types.
OSHA Online Coaching
OSHA Online Coaching is a concise 45-minute course designed to support companies in building and strengthening their in-house training programs. It is available for either forklifts (all classes) or MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform).
This course provides a clear overview of OSHA standards and offers practical guidance for ensuring that your internal training program meets regulatory requirements. It’s an excellent way to enhance your program, fill in any gaps, and ensure best practices are consistently applied. Companies that already have a training program in place can continue delivering it internally while using OSHA Online Coaching as a valuable compliance and quality-check tool.
In-House Evaluator (T3) Program
The In-House Evaluator (T3) Program is for companies that want to manage operator evaluations and re-certifications. Unlike TT, this program does not allow participants to teach classroom theory.
T3 begins with 2–3 hours of online theory for the specific equipment. Participants then complete our OSHA Online Coaching course (45 minutes) as supplementary guidance for OSHA requirements. While the OSHA coaching is standardized for forklift or MEWP, T3 can be completed for multiple machine types beyond these. Finally, participants complete a practical evaluation lasting 2–4 hours, depending on class size.
After completing T3, participants can support their internal in-house training program by conducting evaluations, assigning blended training (online theory), and completing operator re-certifications. This program is ideal for companies that want a structured way to manage ongoing evaluations, train new operators, or provide blended training across one or multiple equipment types.
