Position Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for daily accounting tasks as part of the accounting team. This is a challenging role that will require you to put your previous skills and experience together in a fast paced environment.

The Opportunity
  • Review and approve monthly internal reports for Canadian and US operations
  • Perform complex reconciliations: fixed assets, rental equipment, parts inventory, WIP
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll for affiliated company (15 employees)
  • Learn AX configuration, to provide support for finance and operational teams
  • Assess current accounting operations for improvement opportunities
  • Actively participate in implementing process changes
  • Mentor and guide junior staff
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks
The Ideal Candidate
  • Successful completion of the CFE and working towards a CPA designation or recently designated
    • An equivalent level of combined experience is also considered
  • At least two years’ experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills with advanced experience using MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience with AX (Microsoft Dynamics) will be considered an asset
  • Must be accurate, organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to multitask and cope with conflicting priorities
  • Able to handle high volume of transactions as well as complex transactions
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
