Crane Technician

Leavitt Cranes is seeking an experienced Crane Technician/Electrician to join our cranes division. We have a large fleet of material handling equipment, conventional tower cranes, self-erect cranes, mobile cranes, and rough terrain cranes. Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, you will be responsible for the general duties of a Crane Technician. 

Job Description Details

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/hydraulic/air components used on cranes
  • Perform preventative scheduled maintenance and repairs to ensure safe and proper working order of cranes
  • Perform tasks assigned by Service Manager at the shop or in the field
  • Commitment to Leavitt Cranes’ safety culture; responsible for personal safety and the safety of coworkers
  • Build a positive working relationship with the local safety authority

Job Requirements

  • Red Seal Certified Journeyman Electrician
  • Advanced electrical knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience working with Tower Cranes is considered an asset
  • Dependable with strong problem solving skills and an excellent safety record
  • Ability to communicate to others on how to troubleshoot equipment based on  standard operating procedures and technical manuals.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and trouble-shooting skills; deals with conflict effectively
  • Excellent organizational and clear communication skills
  •  Able to contribute positively to a team environment
  • Willingness and desire to learn
  • A self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision.
